Overview:

This comprehensive training course is designed for individuals responsible for overseeing safety in environments where falls from heights are a risk. As a “Fall Protection Competent Person,” you will be equipped with advanced knowledge and tools necessary to develop, implement, and enforce a robust fall protection program. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical exercises, this course ensures that participants are well-prepared to tackle fall hazards proactively on any worksite.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Understand Fall Risks: Gain a deep understanding of fall hazards and the dynamics of falls, including identifying potential fall hazards in the workplace.
• Regulations and Standards: Become well-versed in OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and best practices for fall protection.
• Fall Protection Systems: Learn about the different types of fall protection systems (personal fall arrest systems, guardrail systems, safety nets, etc.) and the criteria for their selection, use, maintenance, and inspection.
• Fall Protection Planning: Develop skills to assess the workplace for fall hazards and create comprehensive fall protection plans that include rescue planning and risk mitigation strategies.
• Equipment Inspection: Master the ability to inspect and maintain fall protection equipment to ensure it is safe and effective for use.
• Emergency Response and Rescue Plans: Learn to develop and implement emergency response and rescue procedures in the event of a fall incident.
• Training and Competency: Understand the requirements for training employees in fall protection and ensuring ongoing competency.
• Hands-On Practical Application: Apply knowledge through practical exercises, including the correct use of fall protection equipment, inspection procedures, and the development of fall protection plans.
