Overview:

This course offers participants the opportunity to learn and practice critical lifesaving skills through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. The curriculum is aimed at equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to provide effective and immediate care in cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies until advanced medical personnel arrive.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants will:

  • Perform CPR on Adults: Acquire the skills to perform CPR on adults, including assessing the victim, performing chest compressions, delivering rescue breaths, and using a bag-mask device.
  • Use an AED: Learn the steps for operating an automated external defibrillator safely and effectively during a cardiac emergency involving an adult.
  • Manage First Aid Emergencies: Gain the ability to recognize and respond to various first aid emergencies, such as bleeding, burns, fractures, seizures, and other sudden illnesses.
  • Provide Choking Relief: Understand and apply the techniques for relieving choking in adults, employing back blows and abdominal thrusts.
  • Prevent Disease Transmission: Become knowledgeable about universal precautions and the use of personal protective equipment to prevent the transmission of bloodborne pathogens and other infectious diseases.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Discuss the importance of being prepared for emergencies, including creating an emergency action plan and maintaining a well-stocked first aid kit.
